Funeral services for Jimmie Eugene Worthy of Aberdeen, formerly of Winona, were held at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church in Duck Hill, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Harvey Coplin and Bro. Eddie Hollowell officiated the services.
A visitation was held at Oliver Funeral Home on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Pallbearers were Aaron Peacock, Adam Peacock, Alex Peacock, Kris Blakely, Ricky Bingham, and Billy Renfro. Honorary pallbearers were Dexter Worthy and Cameron Laird.
Mr. Worthy, 68, died at his residence on Friday, April 20. He was born on October 14, 1949, to Lemance and Marvilyne Brookman Worthy and was a retired roofer for Dixie Roofing Company in Winona. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa Blakely Worthy; and a sister, Peggy Bivens.
Mr. Worthy is survived by his daughter, Dana Laird of Easton, Kansas; his son, Walter Worthy of Buford, Georgia; sisters, Judy Coplin of Aberdeen and Frankie Heffner of Mooreville; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
