Services for Jean Carroll Langley were held Monday, January 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Mrs. Langley, 83, died on Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born on August 15, 1934, in Indianola to James and Linnie Tadlock Carroll. She lived in the Mississippi Delta her entire life.
She graduated from Riverside High School in Avon in 1952. Mrs. Langley enjoyed sewing, gardening, especially tending to her roses, and playing golf. She loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren more than anything. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Lafayette Carroll and Linnie Lorene Tadlock Carroll of Hollandale; a twin brother, James William Carroll of Hollandale; and a great-grandson, Julian D. Conway of Greenwood.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James A. Langley of Greenwood; daughters, Deborah L. Mitchell and her husband James F. Mitchell of Cleveland, Donna L. Switzer and her husband Richard E. Switzer of Starkville, and Diana L. Goode of Greenwood; grandchildren, William L. MacNeill of Bakersfield, Calif., Adrianne B. Conway of Greenwood, Jameson F. Mitchell of Gulfport, B.J. MacNeill of Starkville, Courtney D. Mitchell of Lake Zurich, Ill., Anna K. Goode of Madison, Ross M. Goode III of Greenwood, and Grayson I. Mitchell of Cleveland; and her only great-grandson, Jacob D. Conway of Greenwood.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Clayton officiated the services. Pallbearers were BJ MacNeill, Ross Goode, Jr., Ross Goode, Sr., Jameson Mitchell, Chase Brown, William MacNeill, Bobby Thomas, and Josh Conway. Interment was in Odd Fellows East Cemetery following the services.
