Funeral services for Jarvis Cummings of Kilmichael, were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Poplar Creek Nations Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Mr. James Hill and Rev. Dale Strickland officiated the services. Pallbearers were Chad Keenum, Clay Cummings, Chance Cummings, Lee Woods, Allen Cummings, and Randy Williamson.
Visitation was Saturday, October 28, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home; and from 2 p.m. until service time, at the church on Sunday.
Mr. Cummings, 83, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston. He was born on September 27, 1934. He was a retired businessman and trucker, and a member of Poplar Creek Nations Baptist Church and the Gideons International.
Mr. Cummings is survived by his three sons, Paul Cummings of Winona, Delynn Cummings of Vaiden, and Billy Ray Cummings of Kilmichael; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Maxine Boatman Cummings and his mother, Fannie Mae Rabun Cummings.
