James Sidney "Jimmy" McClain of North Carrollton, 81, passed away at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada on Wednesday, June 3.
A visitation was held on Friday, from noon until service time, at the church. Funeral services for were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 5, at North Carrollton Baptist Church, with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Rev. Lanny Haley officiated the services.
Pallbearers were Jim Howard, Jerry Shaw, Chris McClain, Ronnie Smith, Tim McBride, Randy Smith, Hal McClain, and Mitchell Costilow. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Donald Shelton, Larry McClain, Jerry McClain, Kenny McClain, Dale McClain, Jerry McClain, Zackary McClain, Trevor McClain, and Chase Marlow.
Mr. McClain was born in McCarley on September 5, 1938, and was the son of the late Percy Redditt and John Winnie Robertson McClain. He was a retired electrical engineer and surveyor and a member of North Carrolton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Arthur Edward McClain, Harold Redditt McClain, and John Daniel McClain.
Mr. McClain is survived by his wife, Judith Hooks "Judy" McClain; his daughter, Beth McClain McLendon; son, Tim McClain (Daphne); seven grandchildren, Nikki Newsom (Jeff), Zack McClain, Trevor McClain, Ann-Marie Edwards (Clint), Shay Marlow, Caylon Marlow, and Chase Marlow; nine great-grandchildren, Adyson Marlow, Brody Newsom, Addison Newsom, Abbigail Newsom, Kaylie Marlow, Kylie Marlow, Jagger McClain, Corey McClain, and Brantley Edwards.
