Mr. James Ledell Pinkston, 89, of Bessemer, Alabama, passed away at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham on Friday, December 22.
He was the son of the late Lee Cordell and Eva Mae Gober Pinkston. He was the retired co-owner of Pinkston's Produce in Bessemer.
Mr. Pinkston was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Blackmonton Presbyterian Church near Vaiden. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sue Ferguson Pinkston, sisters, Sarah Williams and Martha Blanche
Milner; and a brother, Julius Robert Pinkston.
Mr. Pinkston is survived by two daughters, Rita Waters of Birmingham, AL, and Carol Holly of Vaiden; one son, James Robert PInkston of
Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, at Vaiden Cemetery in Vaiden, with Durward Stanton and Billy Joe
Ferguson officiating. Pallbearers were Shawn Calhoun, Josh Holly, Jaime Cleckley, Scott Gibbs, Connor Gibbs, Jacob Cleckley,and Case Calhoun.
