Funeral services for James Henry "Jamie" Lindley of Winona were at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the Winona Church of God, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Shelly Scallions and Rev. Saxton Odom officiated the services. A visitation was held at the church on Sunday, from 1 p.m. until service time.
Mr. Lindley, 68, died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Friday, December 8. He was born on July 31, 1949, in Tallahatchie County. He enjoyed hunting and helping other people. Mr. Lindley attended the Winona Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Lindley; his father, James Arvle Lindley; and a brother, Jerome Lindley.
Mr. Lindley is survived by his mother, Leona Meeks of Winona; sister, Shirley Smith (Chester) of Winona; brother, Arvle Wayne Lindley of Winona; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Corey Lindley, Logan Lindley, Jeff Lindley, Stacy Smith, Ricky Smith, and Brian Holmes. Honorary pallbearers were Chester Smith, Frank Ryan, Tony Baker, Terry Green, Jim McLaughlin, and Bobby Jones.
