Helen Hamilton, age 73, of Carrollton, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her home.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at Mortimer National Funeral Home and service was at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton.
Helen was a former teacher’s assistant at Lockard Elementary School in Indianola, retiring after 20 years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen, also known as Nonnie, tried never to miss any activity her grandchildren had.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Hamilton; two daughters, Dana Hissong and Starr Teal and son-in-law John David Teal; one son, Jeff Hamilton and beloved daughter-in-law, Chrystee Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Bethany Troutt, Josh Troutt, Trystan Hamilton, Ethan Hissong, Laury Beth Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Helen Claire Cobb, and Mary Braxton Cobb; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Starr Purvis; two step-grandchildren, Kalie and Jack Teal; two sisters, Lou Wood and Mary Carroll; and two brothers, Charles Harmon and Ray Harmon.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Katie Troutt. Her kindness, help, and love for Nonnie were incomparable.
