Mrs. Ethel King Mitchell, 97, of Winona passed away at Vaiden Community Living Center in Vaiden on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
A visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Lee Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. Rev. Randy Bridges officiated the service.
Mrs. Mitchell was born to Richard Benjamin and Annie Sudduth King in Holmes County on November 25, 1921. She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at Duck Hill. Mrs. Mitchell had suffered various health problems over a long period of years, but still said grace before every meal and read her Bible every day, having read it through two or three times. She loved animals and enjoyed watching the deer that fed in her yard.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her son, Harold Mitchell of Winona; her brother, R. B. King of Winona; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Roy Mitchell; sister, Louise Terry; and brother, Ezell King.
