Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Ree Ramage of Kilmichael were held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Kilmichael. Rev. Brad Herod and Mr. Dan Beardain officiated the services and burial followed in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home and Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Ramage, 90, was born on November 29, 1927, to Charlie and Henry Sledge. She died Wednesday, December 6, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Mrs. Ramage was a retired employee of McGregor Manufacturing and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Kilmichael.
Mrs. Ramage is survived by her two sons, Joe Ramage (Deborah) of Loxley, Ala., and Robert Ramage (Robin) of Florence; one brother, Tommy Sledge of Morton; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Loyd Ramage; son, William Earl Ramage; three grandchildren, Ryan Ramage, Joshua Paige, and Tonya Ramage; four sisters; and three brothers.
