Funeral services for Effie Antwine of Sidon were held on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Bell Chapel M.B. Church in Sidon, with Pastor John Brooks officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Sidon.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home in Greenwood, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. There was no viewing after the eulogy.
Mrs. Antwine, 88, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her home in Sidon. A teacher’s aide, she was a member of Truvine M.B. Church.
She is survived by her husband, Marshall Antwine of Sidon; daughters, Corine Weathers and Mary Cary, both of Sidon, Maggie Bolden of Greenville, Margaret Weathers of Itta Bena, Annette Pughes of Memphis, Tenn., and Olivia Brooks of Huntsville, Ala.; sons, Calvin Antwine of Winona and Frank Antwine of Sidon; brother, M.L. Covington of Memphis, Tenn.; 31 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.
Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of the arrangements.
