Dan Middleton of Winona passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, at his home, surrounded by his three children.
Dan, 92, was born in Webster County on November 19, 1927, and was the son of the late Alfred Byron Middleton and Hildred Augusta Carver Middleton. On March 28, 1948, Dan married Jamie Ruth Hemphill Middleton. They were married sixty-seven years when she passed away in 2016. Dan spent his life farming and raising cattle. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winona.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Middleton; and his four siblings, William Middleton, Virgil Middleton, Harold Middleton and Edna Earl Pittman.
He is survived by his three children, Jimmy Middleton, Susan Hoover (Denny), and Laurie Lockett, all of Winona; as well as his four grandchildren, Lauren Hoover Funderburk (Mark), Allie Hoover Reed (Russ), Mary Catherine Hoover and Stephanie Lockett (Kevin); five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona, with Rev. Jay Anderson officiating.
Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church in Winona or the charity of the donor's choice.
