Funeral services for Mr. Cleveland Carl "Bubba" Dowdy of Kilmichael were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery near Kilmichael. Rev. Terry Corley, Rev. Jerry McNeer, and Rev. Billy Little officiated the services. Visitation was Thursday, May 24, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Dowdy, D'Wayne Donahoo, Seth Womack, Justin Allen, Steve Corley, and Jeffrey Stafford.
Mr. Dowdy, 82, died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Wednesday, May 23. He was born in Tutwiler on September 30, 1935, to Paul and Molly Jenkins Dowdy. He served four years active duty in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Dowdy was a retired mechanic for Winona Ford Tractor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Dowdy is survived by his wife, Frances Corley Dowdy of Kilmichael; two daughters, Darlene Pearson (Keven) of Madison and Melissa Allen (James) of Corinth, Texas; one son, Daniel Dowdy (Kim) of Winona; one sister, JoAnn Donahoo of Winona; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Oliver Funeral Home of Winona (www.ofhwinona.com) handled the arrangements.
