Funeral services for Clarence Applewhite of McCarley were held on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Bethel CME Church in Black Hawk, with Rev. Regina Tyler officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Black Hawk.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 18 at Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home of Winona.
Mr. Applewhite, 84, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, at his home in McCarley. A bus driver, he was a member of Bethel CME Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie L. Applewhite.
Mr. Applewhite is survived by daughters Jealeon Freeman, Bonny A. Swims, Dorothy J. Phillips, and Mary V. Applewhite; sons, James A. Applewhite, Charles Applewhite, Albert L. Applewhite, Clarence Applewhite, Jr., and Jerome Applewhite.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home in Winona was in charge of the arrangements.
