Charlotte Duggins Turner, 84, of Greenwood passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Visitation was from 12 p.m. until service time. Rev. Dennis McKay officiated. Interment was in Valley Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Charlotte was born September 28, 1933 in Carroll County to Lee and Mary Ellen Duggins. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John E. (Moo) Turner, son, Edwin Turner III, daughter, Jennifer Hathcock, and grandson, Hart Turner. Charlotte was a lifelong resident of Greenwood, where she was the owner of the first licensed day care Bylynn Nursery. She also was the owner of Lakeview Realty. She was retired and loved being with her family.
She is survived by her son, Dent Turner and wife Paige of Vaiden; two daughters, Byron Ellen Shaw and husband Max, of Ashville, N.C., and Terry Turner Andrews and husband Allen, of McCarley; nine grandchildren, Amber Carpenter and husband Richard, Katherine Bower and husband Michael, Layne Turner and wife Rachel, Gracie Turner, Richard Shaw, Mary Ellen Shaw, Trent Turner, Turner Hathcock, and Byron Hathcock, and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Carpenter and Rylan Carpenter.
Pallbearers will be Richard Carpenter, Michael Bowers, Layne Turner, Trent Turner, Turner Hathcock, and Byron Hathcock.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Earlene Roberson, Shirley Weeks, and Brooke Flynn for taking such excellent care of their mother, and a very special thanks to Sta-Home Hospice nurse Ashley Harris.
