Ardith Eileen Wier (nee Ford), 94, of Starkville and Greenwood, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Autumn Leaves Memory Care in Rockwall, Texas.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood. Visitation preceded the burial and began at 2 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Dr. Rusty Douglas officiated.
Mrs. Wier was born March 8, 1924, to Phil Mathis Ford and Maude Leach Ford of Twinsburg, Ohio, where she graduated from Twinsburg High School. She resided in Greenwood and Starkville most of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood and First Presbyterian Church of Starkville where she taught Adult Sunday School.
Mrs. Wier was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Trent F. Ford, Manley L. Ford, and Lynn B. Ford and her husband David Dewey Wier, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, David “Bo” Dewey Wier III and wife Leslie of Richland, Washington, and Phil Ford Wier and wife Lynn of Heath, Texas, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bo Wier, Phil Wier, David Wier, Colin Wier, Tyler Wier, and Thomas Sosnowski.
Wilson & Knight Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
