Alice Faye Howze, 78, of Greenwood went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home and visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Rev. Kevin Jackson will officiate. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Howze was born January 31, 1939, in Cascilla to Charles Aubrey Hyde and Ruth Corrine Sherril Hyde. She graduated from Cascilla High School, received her LPN from Mississippi Delta Community College, and worked for Care Inn Nursing Home for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a loving wife and mother who loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Granholm Hays, and brother, James Morris Hyde.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Howze of Greenwood; daughter, Karen Granholm of Louisville, Ken.; son, Michael Eric Granholm of Grenada; step-daughter, Sherry Howze Sparks of Greenwood; step-son, Allan Howze of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Rivers Coleman of Greenwood; and Shirley Granholm Fisher of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Hays, Harry Horton, Daniel Hays, Eric Granholm, son-in-law, Steve Hays, and good friend, Richie Hudson.
