Funeral services for Mr. Chester "Buddy" Smith, of Winona, were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Winona Church of God. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ricky Cook and the Rev. John Lumbley officiated the service. Pallbearers were Bryan Holmes, Logan Burrell, Dylan Burrell, Layland Smith, Jeff Lindley, and Sam Seymour. Shannon Dunn served as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home and Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. until service time at Winona Church of God.
Mr. Chester Smith, 86, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at his home in Winona. He was born to Lacy Lee and Regina Loyce Smith on July 2, 1938. Prior to retiring he owned and operated Campbell Hill Grocery in Winona. He attended Winona Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lindley Smith of Winona; two sons, Ricky Smith and Stacy Smith (Dionne) both of Winona; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
