Barry Wadell McCain, age 55, passed away on Aug 3, 2024, in Clinton. The family received friends on Friday, August 16, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life began at 2 p.m. Interment was at Winona Garden of Memory in Winona.
Barry was born on July 30, 1969, in Greenwood, to Eldon “Jack” Wadell and Regena Bodry McCain. He graduated from Winona High School in 1987 and Holmes Junior College in 1989.
Barry was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Wadell McCain of Winona; his mother, Regena Margaret Bodry McCain of Winona; and his sisters, Stacie Kendall McCain Jones of Kosciusko, and Carla Beth McCain Ketchum of Olive Branch. He is survived by his sister Reneé McCain Scales (Mike) of Madison, and his nieces, nephew, and great nieces.
Barry was abundantly kind and polite, and he never met anyone who did not become a friend. He loved Mississippi State sports, watching the Atlanta Braves; and he had an eagle-eye for spotting birds of prey. He just celebrated his 55th birthday with caramel cake, a Diet Coke, and quality time with his sister. His booming laugh and goofy antics will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
