Arthur “Art” Langley, 81, of Carrollton, died Friday, June 7, 2024 at his residence. There will be a service at a later date at Malmaison Baptist Church in Carroll County. The Rev. Edward Carpenter will officiate.
Art was born January 16, 1943, in Darlove, to Edward Langley and Fannie Gray Langley. He was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. He worked as a deputy sheriff for the Leflore County Sheriff's Department for six years and retired from being a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and truck driving. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Langley; daughter, Roane Corley Langley; three brothers, Charles Langley, Robert Langley, and McArthur Langley; sisters, Modine Russell, Lottie Williams, and Jackie Blakely; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Beverly Galey Langley; son, James Langley of Carrollton; daughter and son, Kelli Nobles and Don Nobles of Carrollton; six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and former wife, Sarah Langley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Nobles, Myron Goodwin, Drew Bloodworth, C.J. Robertson, Layman Diamond, Larry Wiggins, Jr., Bubba Ashmore, and the men of Malmaison Baptist Church.
