John Nester,36, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at his residence in Carrollton. He was born in Georgia to James Darrell and Pamela Sue Stafford Nester on Feb. 11, 1988. He was employed as a surveyor for Johnson-McAdams in Greenwood.
Mr. Nester is survived by his mother, Sue Nester of Carrollton; sister, Candice Marie Bennett (Jonathan) of Carrollton; niece, Lilly Anne Bennett; brother, Matthew Stafford of Carrollton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Darrell Nester; and grandparents, Joe Howard and Ora Mae Slocum Stafford and JD and Helen Nester.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the home of Greg and Kellye James in Carrollton. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Germany, Ethan King, Jimmy Flautt, Johnathan Bennett, Chuck Clark, Ben Carroll, Kenneth Neal, Mark Boone, Greg James, Walt Defreese, and Buck McNeer.
