Era Faye McDonald, 78, of Carrollton, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at the Vaiden Community Living Center in Vaiden. Graveside services for Mrs. McDonald will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Moore’s Memorial Cemetery in Carrollton. The Rev. Tony Brown will officiate the service.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Carroll County on Aug. 31, 1945, to Roy Leon and Era Marie Brown Whitfield. She was a telephone operator with South Central Bell, a shipping/receiving clerk with Carrollton Manufacturing, and a homemaker. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Leon Whitfield and Era Marie Brown Whitfield; brothers, Richard Leon Whitfield, Eugene "Bo" Whitfield, and James Alvin Whitfield.
Mrs. McDonald leaves behind her husband, Harold McDonald of Carrollton; three sons, Robert Hunter (Jenny) of Cary, NC and Jeffrey Shane Hunter (Amy) of Lexington, KY; Geoffrey Lee McDonald (Cori) of Grenada; sister, Jan Homer (David) of Saltillo; brother, Kenneth Whitfield (Cheryl) of Okolona; seventeen grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
