Funeral services for Chris Hodges Amason, of Winona, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at First Baptist Church in Winona, with the Rev. Bob Cannizzaro officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery in Winona. Pallbearers will be Chance Amason, Cole Amason, Carl Amason, Brandon Amason, Garrett Ables, and Reece Johnson.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m on Tuesday, March 12 at First Baptist Church in Winona.
Chris Hodges Amason, 64, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. She was born to James "Doc" and Nan Beach Hodges on Dec. 27, 1959. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church, where she taught children in Sunday School. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She dedicated 30 years of her life to providing childcare for many area families.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Amason of Winona; daughters, Crystal Whitfield (Shane) and Brittany Lunceford (John) both of Saltillo; sisters, Linda Westmoreland, Selena Simmons, and Sam Hodges; brother, Don Clark; four grandchildren, Daniel Whitfield, Grayson Whitfield, John Sawyer Lunceford, and Sylvie Lunceford; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Bailey and brother, Ned Clark Jr.
