The Rotary Club of Winona will host a Community Forum on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Winona Community House on Sterling Street from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in an effort to connect the community and law enforcement.
“We want to try to bring people and the police together for a discussion about what citizens can do to help the police and help prevent crime,” said Bob Graves, Winona Rotary board member and past Rotary district governor.
Graves said both the Winona Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department have been invited to attend the forum, and the public is invited to attend. Graves will moderate the event.
Graves said discussion topics will include:
• When should someone call 911?
• Who do you call when a street light is out?
• How can one get a private security light installed at a residence?
• How effective are burglar alarms?
• Is video surveillance something a resident should invest in?
• What is the status of the Neighborhood Watch program?
• How do you protect yourself and your property?
The event is sponsored by the Winona Rotary Club. For more information, email reg45r@netscape.net.
