As election season kicks off, the incumbents are coming out swinging as they seek a new term to serve the citizens of Montgomery County.
As of press time Wednesday, supervisors Keith McGee- District 1, Willie Earl Townsend, Jr. - District 3 and Janet Roby-Harper- District 5 all qualified to run for re-election on the Democratic ticket, and incumbent Circuit Court Clerk Lanelle G. Martin qualified as well. Martin is running as an independent.
Also, incumbent Keith Stokes Roberts has qualified to seek re-election for Justice Court Judge.
Bryan Lott, running as an independent, qualified to run for Montgomery County Constable – District 2 seat.
Qualifying last week were incumbents Robert Edwin Taylor- Supervisor District 2, Ron Wood- Supervisor District 4, Jerry Dell Bridges- Constable District 2, Allan Pratt- Coroner, Jerry C. “Bubba” Nix, Jr. – Sheriff, Ryan Wood- Chancery Clerk, and Larry Bamberg- Justice Court Judge, District 2.
Challengers for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s seat were Jeff Tompkins and Jamey Mims, both running on the Democratic ticket.
