WINONA -- Continuing the celebration of Winona Astronaut Donald Peterson, who was honored last month, Winona’s annual Christmas Parade will be “out of this world.”
According to Winona Main Street Director Sue Stidham, the parade will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, at 7 p.m.
“The theme for this year is ‘An Out of this World Christmas,’” Stidham said.
Stidham said this year’s parade will feature the Mississippi Valley State University Band, the Holmes Community College Band, Winona High School and Junior High School bands, and the J.Z. George band. In addition, the parade committee has extended invitations to the Greenwood High School Band, and the Eupora High School band.
“We’d like to make it more of a community-wide event with the surrounding communities participating,” Stidham said.
Stidham encouraged businesses, civic groups, and church groups to pick up an application from Winona City Hall on Summit Street and sign up to have a float. Cash prizes are given for the best floats.
