The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department has charged a Vardaman teen in connection with a string of burglaries in Carrollton and North Carrollton recently.
According to Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker, John Hyde, 18, of Vardaman has been arrested and charged with four counts of commercial burglary and one count of auto burglary.
“During a search of a residence on Montgomery Lane in North Carrollton, deputies recovered most of the stolen property,” Walker said.
Last week, Walker reported that the sheriff’s Department was investigating the burglaries of the Carrollton-North Carrollton Public Library and the concession stand at the Carroll County Rec Park, as well an apartment in North Carrollton. There were also reports of items stolen from carports around the two towns.
“Anything from coolers, weed eaters to Snicker bars have been taken,” Walker said.
Walker said Hyde is also being held in connection to a recent church burglary in Montgomery County.
