Recently a long-standing natural monument to beauty and grace was removed from the Carrollton Courthouse lawn. A long-standing fixture, an oak tree, was approved for cutting, removal, and stump grinding at the June 3 Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting due to the potential hazard it posed.
