The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, August 3, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms erupting across eastern Iowa, central and
eastern Wisconsin, much of Michigan and into northern
Illinois can turn strong tomorrow, especially during the
afternoon. The storms will be capable of producing flooding
downpours, hail and damaging wind gusts. Elsewhere, the
monsoon will become a bit less active in the West. However,
afternoon thunderstorms are still expected in the higher
terrain and could cause local flash flooding, mudslides and
locally strong wind gusts. Meanwhile, much of Louisiana,
Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and northern Florida can also
expect thunderstorms. While most will occur in the
afternoon, they could happen at anytime along the immediate
coast. Heat will continue to broil the southern Plains, with
many locations over 100 F once again.
