The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, July 20, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Tomorrow afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are expected
in much of the Southeast, from the Carolinas to Florida.
Stronger thunderstorms are likely to the north, forming in
Ohio and eastern Michigan during the afternoon and moving
into western New York and Pennsylvania later in the evening.
Some of these storms are expected to turn severe, with
damaging winds, hail and a few tornadoes all possible. The
Northeast will be dry but increasingly hot, with high
temperatures in the low to mid-90s likely as far north as
southern Maine. Extreme heat will continue in the southern
Plains and Desert Southwest as well. Highs in the 100s are
expected from southern Missouri and Kansas southward. Many
desert cities in the Southwest will reach above 110 degrees
Fahrenheit, with much cooler weather by the coast.
