Last week one of my best friends called me from Madison to say she was so excited because she had gone to CRUMBLE cookies and gotten more than what she had ordered. Don’t you love it when that happens, when you get blessed with a little extra?
Anyway, when she called I was so happy for her because she was happy and I said an out loud, “Isn’t God good and said thank you Jesus for blessing my friend.”
A couple hours later someone pulled up at my house and it was my friend bringing me one of the extra CRUMBLE cookies. Yay I know she’s one of the best.
Now I was sure happy eating that cookie, but the happiness faded, the feeling that I had when I thought that I had a friend who would come to my house at 9:00 at night to bring me a cookie that she’d been blessed with, well that feeling is called joy.
You see happiness is fleeting, but joy is something that is continual, it's something that brings a smile to your face no matter what's going on when you think about it. T
hat thought of what an incredible friend I have brings me joy, the thought of having a warm home, or cool home in the summer, to come home to bring me joy. And most importantly, the thought that I have a Savior who saved me and loves me everyday no matter what brings me the most joy.
As christians, we should be people who bring joy to others because our joy comes from our Savior and our blessings. So this week spend time thinking about things that bring you joy in any circumstance and find joyful people to be around. Remember Ms. Faulk loves you, but Jesus loves you more.
