A Montgomery County justice court judge is facing criminal charges after being indicted by a grand jury last week.
Keith Stokes Roberts was indicted on a charge of kidnapping stemming from an incident in September at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home in Winona.
According to reports, the incident involved a dispute at the funeral home where family members of a deceased individual had gathered. A family member reported being unable to leave the premises for a period of time.
Roberts reportedly told authorities he was attempting to complete required paperwork before the family departed.
Roberts is charged under Mississippi Code 97-3-53, the state's kidnapping statute.
