WINONA, Miss. — The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors on Monday approved a five-year renewal for the county’s 911 call-taking system and set the stage for 2026 purchasing, during its regular meeting at the county courthouse.The board met in regular session at 8 a.m. Dec. 1 in the Board Room of the Montgomery County Courthouse with all five supervisors present.
911 call-taking contract renewed
Supervisors voted unanimously to enter into an agreement with Central Mississippi Communications to continue providing the Zetron MAX Call Taking System for the county’s Emergency Operations Center. The action renews and extends an existing subscription agreement for an additional five years, from Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2030 unless terminated.
Under a supplemental fee schedule, the county will pay a five-year subscription service plan fee totaling $117,545 for two call-taking positions, billed annually at $23,509. The plan includes 24-hour, year-round on-site service available upon request, with on-site work billed hourly after the first year, and a hardware refresh of core system components such as controller equipment, workstations, monitors, switches, keypads and handsets.
Road culvert work recorded
Supervisors authorized spreading the October Culvert Report for the Montgomery County Unit System onto the minutes. The report listed three capital projects between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31 for culvert and drainage work in areas including Rolling Green Cir. and Bogasha Rd., with total costs reported at $8,717.53, including personnel, equipment and materials.
Assessment rolls approval noted
The board also voted unanimously to spread in the minutes the Mississippi Department of Revenue’s order approving the county’s 2025 real and personal assessment rolls. The certification from the Department of Revenue, dated Nov. 26, 2025, was entered on the county’s minutes as of the Dec. 1 meeting.
2026 supply bids opened
Supervisors authorized the opening of bids for county supplies, maintenance materials and metal and plastic culverts for the 2026 calendar year and took the bids under advisement. An earlier board order directed that sealed bids, clearly marked for county supplies and culverts, be submitted to the Chancery Clerk’s Office by 9 a.m. Dec. 1 for opening during the regular meeting, with the bid period to cover Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026.
Board sets recessed meeting
Before adjourning, the board voted unanimously to recess until 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at the courthouse Board Room. The order directed the clerk to post a public notice within one hour stating that supervisors would reconvene Dec. 15 to approve the Dec. 1 minutes and conduct any other business that may come before the board.
