The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors convened their regular meeting on March 18. Proceedings began with the approval of minutes from the March 4 meeting. The first item on the agenda was a discussion with Seth Kent regarding the tower rent for the emergency repeater situated on the WONA radio tower along New Hope Road. The discussion focused on adjusting the tower rent to address the escalating costs over the years.
“It’s been at the same rate for about 20 years now,” Kent said.
Following the discussion, Kent requested that the Board consider raising the tower rent by $150 per month. The Board unanimously approved this proposed increase.
Continuing with the agenda, Marsha Alexander and Tiffany Otis from The Winona Times presented an advertising opportunity for the Board to feature in the upcoming Profile edition. After their presentation, the Board unanimously approved placing a full-page advertisement on the front inside cover.
