Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation celebrated its 100th year of success within the organization. Montgomery County Farm Bureau Board and staff was a big part of the celebration. Along with the livestock show, trade show and award recognition, there were a host of great speakers and entertainment. Former Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee was one of many highlights of the convention. along with many other great speakers were Mississippi’s Congressmen's, Mississippi legislators. Devotional speaker on Sunday morning was Chip Henderson senior pastor of PineLake Church. A beautiful opening for the National Anthem was sung by Emily Carter, Farm Bureau lifetime member from Sharkey County. Trace Atkins Country Music Concert was enjoyed by a packed house. The highlights for Montgomery County Farm Bureau were the recognition of the most prestigious award, the President Award. On stage to receive the award was County President, Jimmy Morrow and County Secretary Vanessa Pearson. Two ex-secretaries, Caitlin Sproles and Theresa Mitchell were present to salute the honor that they once received. County president elect Kenneth Loggins, had the distinct privilege to post the flag for the Montgomery County in the presentation of statewide flags. Betty Mills, State Women Leadership Chair was honored to present the winning District Four Women Recognition Award to Montgomery County Woman Chair, Georgia Caffey. Mills, also presented Tange James, Grenada County Farm Bureau Woman Chair with the Farm Woman of the Year Award. Attending the annual Farm Bureau business meeting serving as voting delegates were board directors, Jimmy Morrow., Nathan Crenshaw, vice president elect, Robbie Roberts, president elect, Kenny Loggins.
