The Winona Christian Lady Stars picked up three wins on the softball diamond last week.
The Lady Stars opened the week with a big 13-1 win over Oak Hill in district play on Monday before falling to Pillow 10-2 on Thursday. On Saturday, Winona Christian picked up a 4-2 over Tallulah and a 9-0 win over St. Aloysius in the Tri-County Tournament before falling 4-2 to the host team to finish out the day.
Winona Christian, now 9-6 on the season, was scheduled to travel to Central Holmes on Monday and host Carroll on Tuesday. They will finish out the week at the Bayou Academy Tournament.
WCS 13, Oak Hill 1
The Lady Stars scored in every inning and took a four-inning win over the lady Raiders on Monday.
Winona scored three in the first, two in the second and fourth while adding six in the third.
WCS had 12 hits in the contest and took advantage of five errors. Sara Rawles was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs while Haley Beckwith was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Ashleigh Parkinson was 2-for-3 and scored three runs while Hilary Beckwith had three RBIs and two runs scored. Terri Cain also had a double in the contest while Miranda McDaniel also had two stolen bases.
Rawles pitched four innings and gave up one run on two hits while striking out three.
Pillow 10, WCS 2
Pillow jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on to take a win on Thursday.
Pillow scored five in the second and two in the third. Winona scored single runs in the fourth and fifth.
WCS had just five hits as Lennie Wood was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ashleigh Parkinson singled and scored while Miranda McDaniel and Kaylah Varnes also singled.
WCS 4, Tallulah 2
The Lady Stars used a pair of two-run innings to take a time-limit win on Saturday at the Tri-County Tournament.
Winona scored two in the second and fourth innings to take the win.
Haley Beckwith was 2-for-2, stole three bases and scored two runs while Kaylah Varnes singled and had an RBI. Sara Rawles pitched all four innings and gave up two runs on two hits and struck out six to pick up the win.
WCS 9, St. Aloysius 0
The Lady Stars allowed only one hit to take a three-inning win over the Lady Flashes on Saturday.
Winona scored two runs in the first, four in the second and three in the third.
WCS had eight hits as Haley Beckwith was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Allie Leach tripled while Madyson Leach had two RBIs. Ashleigh Parkinson also scored two runs. Brantley Stanford also had two stolen bases.
Allie Rawles picked up the win on the mound and gave up one hit while striking out three.
Tri-County 4, WCS 2
The Lady Rebels scored four runs in the first and held on to take a two-run win on Saturday. Winona scored its only run in the first inning.
Tri-County outhit Winona 7-6 in the contest. Sara Rawles was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. Lennie Wood singled and scored while Miranda McDaniel and Madyson Leach each singled.
Sara Rawles pitched all three innings and gave up four runs on seven hits.
