The Winona Tigers took three blowout wins last week on the baseball diamond.
The Tigers hammered O’Bannon 14-3 on Monday and then swept a doubleheader from North Panola, winning 8-6 and 14-2.
Winona, now 5-2 on the season, will play Ruleville on Friday and then host Kirk Academy on Saturday.
Winona 14, O’Bannon 3
The Tigers scored in every inning and took a five-inning, run-rule victory over O’Bannon on Monday.
Winona scored four in the first, three in the second, one in the third and six in the fourth.
Winona outhit O’Bannon 16-1 in the contest. Chase Richardson was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Dalton Ferguson was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Danarius Robinson was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Javaris Hemphill was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Conner Helms was 2-for-3. Aiden Eldridge was 2-for-4 while Ashton Hurst singled and drove in two runs.
Clayton Sheffield pitched three innings and gave up two runs on one hit and two walks whiles striking out three. Ja’mes Alexander pitched the final two innings and gave up one unearned run on one task while striking out three.
Winona 18, North Panola 6
The Tigers used a big third inning and took a run-rule win over North Panola on Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Each team scored two runs in the first inning and North Panola added a single run in the top of the second. Winona then answered with five runs in the second and 11 in the third.
Winona had seven hits in the contest but drew 11 walks and took advantage of 10 errors. James Hemphill was 2-for-2 with two walks, two singles, two RBIs and four runs scored. Dalton Ferguson walked twice and scored three runs while Danarius Robinson also scored three runs. Aiden Eldridge scored twice and had two RBIs while Ja’mes Alexander scored two runs.
Jacob Myers started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up four unearned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out six. Ashton Hurst pitched the final inning and gave up two runs on one walk while striking out two.
Winona 14, North Panola 2
The Tigers had four three-run innings and took another run-rule win over North Panola on Tuesday in the second game of the doubleheader.
Winona scored three in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings and two in the second.
Winona had 11 hits in the contest as Dalton Ferguson was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Ashton Hurst was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs while Griffin Faulkner was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Danarius Robinson doubled, walked twice and scored three runs. Chase Richardson tripled while Javaris Hemphill and Jacob Myers each scored two runs apiece.
Robinson started and pitched four innings, giving up two unearned runs on three hits and five walks while striking out six. Clayton Sheffield pitched the last inning and struck out one.
