The Winona Christian baseball team won two out of three games over the spring break as they prepare for district play to start this week.
The Stars opened the week with a 14-12 loss to Richland on Tuesday in Vicksburg before taking a 10-0 win over Clinton Christian. The Stars finished the week with a 15-0 win over Central Holmes in a non-district contest.
The Stars were scheduled to open district play on Monday against Carroll. The Stars will then host Oak Hill on Tuesday and travel to Central Holmes on Friday.

The Stars took an early lead and didn’t allow a hit to take a four-inning, run-rule win over the Trojans on Friday in a non-district contest.
Winona scored four runs in the first and fourth and used a seven-run third for the final margin.
Winona had 13 hits in the contest as Dalton Wiggins was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Steele Mims was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs while Blake Cooper was 2-for-3. Hayden Self was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Davis Dew was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Sam Thompson also doubled while Austin Winters walked twice, scored twice and had two RBIs. Collin Parkinson also walked twice and scored twice.
Parkinson started on the mound and pitched three innings for the Stars and gave up two walks while striking out five. Cooper pitched the last inning and walked one and struck out one.

The Stars scored in every inning and had two pitchers combine on a no-hitter to take a run-rule win over the Warriors on Tuesday in Vicksburg.
Winona Christian scored single runs in the first, second and fifth innings while adding two in the fourth and five in the third.
Winona had 10 hits in the contest as Blake Cooper was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Reed Schuler was 2-for-4 with a double while Steele Mims tripled and scored twice. Dalton Wiggins walked three times and had three stolen bases while Collin Parkinson doubled and drove in a run. Hayden Self walked twice and scored twice while Parker Bledsoe and Davis Dew each walked twice.
Cooper started on the mound and pitched four innings without giving up a hit and walking just one while striking out seven. Mims pitched the last inning and walked one while striking out two.
Richland 14, Winona Christian 12
The Rangers scored eight runs in the fifth and took a two-run win over the Stars on Tuesday in Vicksburg.
Richland led 5-3 after two innings before Winona scored three in the third, two in the fourth and four in the fifth to take a 12-6 lead. But the Rangers scored eight in the bottom of the fifth to take the win.
Richland outhit Winona 9-7 in the contest but the Stars drew 14 walks to nine for the Rangers. Blake Cooper was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs while Austin Winters was 2-for-3. Sam Thompson tripled and drove in three runs while Dalton Wiggins walked twice and scored twice. Steele Mims doubled while Parker Beldsoe and Brannon Hill each scored twice.
Collin Parkinson pitched the first 2 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on three hits and five walks while Morgan Nance pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up four runs on three hits and three walks. Bledsoe pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up four runs on two hits and a walk while Trace Carpenter pitched the last 1 1/3 of an inning and gave up just one hit.
