The Carroll Academy girls got their first win of the season last week while the Rebels played their first game.
The Lady Rebels beat Starkville Christian 36-23 while the Rebels dropped a 59-57 decision to the Cougars.
Carroll is scheduled to play at Winston on Tuesday and host Heritage on Thursday. Next week, Carroll will host Starkville Christian next Tuesday and travel to Deer Creek on Thursday, Nov. 18.
Starkville Christian boys 59, Carroll 57
The Cougars used a big second period and held off a late charge by the Rebels to take a two-point win.
Each team scored 17 points in the first period but Starkville outscored Carroll 16-7 in the second period to lead 33-24 at the half. Carroll pulled within five in the third as they outscored Starkville 16-12 in the third and 17-14 in the fourth but fell short.
Noah Beck led Carroll with 27 points while Brennan Blaylock had 12 points. Bryce Collier had nine points while Mathis Beck had six points.
Carroll girls 36, Starkville Christian 23
The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Cougars in every period and took a 13-point win.
Carroll outscored Starkville 9-6 in the first period and 12-6 in the second to lead 21-12 at the half. Carroll continued to extend the lead in the second half as they outscored Starkville Christian 7-4 in the third and 8-7 in the fourth.
Dru Chamblee led Carroll with 16 points while Bella Carter had seven points. Anna Laken Taylor had five points and Mary Laken Boutwell added four points.
