The girls and boys basketball teams at J.Z. George High School got back into action Tuesday night as both teams played host to Leflore County.
J.Z. George didn’t play any games last week, but there are plenty on tap the next week.
Following Tuesday’s games, the J.Z. George Thanksgiving Classic will be held Thursday through Saturday. Thursday, McEvans and Ethel will play girls and boys games at 4 and 5:30 p.m. At 7 and 8:30 p.m., J.Z. George takes on West Bolivar’s girls and boys.
Friday, J.Z. George and Ethel will play a pair of games starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, the Riverside girls play Ethel at 2 p.m., and the West Bolivar boys tangle with Ethel at 3:30 p.m. At 5 and 6:30 p.m., the J.Z. George girls and boys take on Grenada High School.
The J.Z. George girls and boys will be competing in the Delta Duels Classic Monday at Mississippi Valley State University. The Lady Jags and Jaguars will play Houston High School at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m.
The two-day tournament is hosted by Delta Streets Academy.
Two changes to the schedule have been made. J.Z. George will play Gentry in the Gentry Classic on Nov. 27, and they go to Coffeeville on Nov. 30. hey go to Kosciusko on Dec. 11.
