I would like to thank all the parents and grandparents who brought their children into the library to participate in Pokemon Week! We had good participation and gave away a lot of Pokemon prizes!

Currently, plans are being made for National Library Week, April 3 -9. According to the American Library Association, National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. This year’s theme is “Connect with Your Library. “Connect with Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using wi-fi, the internet, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with different types of media in addition to books. Most importantly, libraries also connect communities. Overall, the theme is a call to action—an invitation for communities to join, visit or advocate for their local libraries. Plans for the week are as follows:
• Tuesday, April 5 – Plant Swap from 9:30 – 11:30 am the Winona Garden Club will be helping with this event.
• April 6 – 8, Organize Your Life - Certified KonMari Speaker Shannon Huneycutt will present a Virtual Spark Joy Program. Register now online at midmisslib.com/Winston. This program will be available online for 48 hours. You must register to receive the link for the program to your email.
• Wednesday, April 6 at 2 p.m. – Free adult coloring class. Come color with us! All the supplies will be provided unless you would like to bring your own. Light refreshments will be served.
• Thursday, April 7 at 11:30 a.m. – Lunch with Winona native Candy Justice at the Montgomery County Performing Arts Center, 208 Summit Street. Justice will begin speaking at noon. This program will be sponsored by Friends of the Winona-Montgomery County Library.
