Jimmie Rias, Jr., 91, of Coila, died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at his home. A limited visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home in Winona. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27 at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Black Hawk. Burial was held in the Bethel Christian Church cemetery in Coila.
Mr. Rias was a retired assembly line worker at Baldwin Piano and Organ Co. and a member of Mount Pleasant M. B. Church. He is survived by his wife, Frances Lou Stokes Rias of Coila; his daughter, Loie F. Nevels of Coila; his son, Henry Lewis Rias of Greenwood; five sisters, Vota Mae Saffold of Memphis, Tenn., Ella Marie Burkhead of Carrollton, Annie Battie of Greenwood, Polly Dunlap of Erie, Pa., and Mattie Ratliff of Coila; a brother, Charlie Rias, of Memphis, Tenn., two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
