The Winona Library will be closed on Friday, April 7, for Good Friday. We will reopen with our regular business hours Monday April 10.
Coming up in April, the library has many exciting programs planned. Activities planned are:
• April 3 - 28, Come work a puzzle with us! Just come in, have a seat, and work on the puzzle if you like.
• April 3 - 14 and April 17 - 28, we will have activity packets Easter/Spring and Earth Day. We have age-appropriate sets, just come by, and pick one up.
• April 4 at 3:30 p.m., we invite all teens and preteens to join us for “Minute to Win It” and a craft. Complete the task in a minute and win a prize.
• April 10 at 10 a.m., Time to Blossom Preschool Storytime. Come enjoy Storytime and interactive music with your little one. We will be painting a Spring themed canvas!
• April 10 at 3:30 p.m., Earth Day Storytime and craft for grades K-6.
• April 19 at 2 p.m., Adult Coloring Class. Light refreshments will be available.
National Library Week this year is April 23 – 29. This year’s theme is "There's More to the Story,” illustrating the fact that in addition to the books in a library’s collection, available in a variety of formats, libraries offer so much more than books. Library programming can bring communities together, and the library can advance communities by providing internet access and technology access, literacy skills, and support for students, job seekers and entrepreneurs. In celebration on National Library week, we have several special activities planned during the week!
• April 25 from 10 a.m.-noon, Plant Swap. Bring a plant, take a plant. Winona Garden Club will be helping us with this fun event.
• April 26 at 11:30 a.m., Winona Friends of the Library will Host Felder Rushing at the Performing Arts Center, 208 Summit Street. Light refreshments will be served at 11:30 a.m. with the program beginning at noon.
• April 26 at 1:30 p.m., Bingo with Melinda Wells of Mississippi Home Care. Her team will be conducting blood pressure checks and fall screenings in addition to playing Bingo.
• April 27 at 3:30 p.m. K - 6, will be painting a Spring themed canvas.
