Larkin Kirkwood, 93, of West, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 12, 1931. He was a member and deacon of Hudson M.B. Church in West.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Roberts and Sons Mortuary (Ed Roberts Chapel of Remembrance) in Winona. The Rev. Quentin Harmon officiated at the services. Interment followed in Hudson M.B. Church Cemetery. The pallbearers were his grandsons.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home.
Deacon Kirkwood is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bobby Nell Kirkwood, Katherine Knox (Orman), Linda Gibson (Truevane); two sons, Walter Jay Kirkwood, Michael Kirkwood; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fannie Mae Kirkwood; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years at her death, Eunice Mae Kirkwood; his daughter Carol Ann Landfair; his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
