The Winona High School girls fast-pitch softball team went 1-1 in two Region 3-3A contests played last week.
The Lady Tigers (5-9 overall, 1-1 in region) knocked off visiting Ruleville 17-2 last Thursday. They scored eight runs in the first and nine in the second. Ruleville tallied a run each in the second and third innings.
Lindsey Berryhill got the win in the circle as she went all three innings, allowing both runs on four hits, walking three and fanning two. At the plate, she had a double, one RBI and scored two runs.
Kaylen Whitfield had a single, two RBIs and scored two runs, and Alisha Taylor drove in three runs with a single and scored twice.
Keagan Hall had a single, two RBIs and scored three runs, and Emily Casiday had an RBI and scored a run. Madison Henderson had two RBIs and scored two runs, and Emma Vincent scored twice and drove in one run. Mary Beth Brannon scored two runs, and Hannah Brannon scored once.
The Lady Tigers dropped a 10-0 decision to Yazoo County last Tuesday. Casiday had the lone hit and stole three bases. Henderson and Berryhill pitched for Winona.
Winona, which played at Ruleville Monday, at Humphreys County Tuesday and hosted Amanda Elzy Wednesday in region games, entertains French Camp Friday and takes on Vicksburg High School and Cleveland Central in the Riverside High School Tournament Saturday.
