Senior Hannah Ware finished 3-for-4 (home run, 3 RBI) to help lead the Winona Christian School Lady Stars to an 8-0 win over Indianola Academy Monday night to conclude their regular season.
With the win, WCS improves to 15-7 on the season.
Eighth-grader Gowan Cain finished 2-for-4 (double, RBI, run) and senior Allie Leach was 2-for-3 (2 runs). Freshman Dylen Dew had a 2-for-4 (RBI, run) night, while seventh-grader Harlee Lepard was 1-for-3 (double, RBI, run). Senior Lily Welch finished 1-for-2 (RBI, run). Eighth-grader Charlee Franklin and freshman Aubree Ingold both added a single. Eighth-grader Bristol Greene scored a run.
Cain was the winning pitcher going six innings (3 hits, 11 strikeouts, walk).
The Lady Stars will open play in the North AAA Regional Tournament at Bear Pen Park in Cleveland at 11:45 a.m. this Saturday against Kirk Academy.
