Carroll Academy girls won two out of three games at the Columbus Christian Christmas Tournament last week.
The Lady Rebels beat Amory Christian
52-27 and then beat Kemper Academy 47-38 before falling to Nanih Waiya 51-14.
The Rebels lost all three games last week, falling 57-35 to Victory Christian, 75-68 to Central Holmes and 79-54 to host Columbus Christian.
Carroll will return to action this week as they travel to Indianola on Thursday and then host rival Winona Christian on Friday. The following week, Carroll has three contests as they host Winston on Tuesday, Jan, 9 and Canton on Thursday, Jan. 11. They will then travel to Winston on Friday, Jan. 12 to finish out the week.
Carroll Girls 52, Amory Christian 27
The Lady Rebels started fast and took a 25 point win over Amory last week.
Carroll jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first period and then outscored Amory 11-7 in the second to lead 30-11 at the half. Carroll continued to extend the lead in the third period, outscoring Amory 14-6 to take a 44-17 lead into the fourth period. Amory took the fourth period 10-8 for the final margin.
Ann Laken Taylor led Carroll with 20 points while Makenzie Reeves had eight points. Carlie Hubbard also chipped in six points.
Carroll Girls 47, Kemper Academy 38
The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Rams in three out of the four periods to take a nine-point win.
Carroll outscored Kemper 12-8 in the first period while the Lady Rams took the second period 12-11 to cut the lead to 23-20 at the half. Carroll extended the lead in the second half as they outscored Kemper 12-9 in each the third and fourth periods to pull away and take a second straight win.
Ann Laken Taylor again led Carroll with 20 points while Carlie Hoover had 11 points.
Nanih Waiya Girls 51, Carroll 14
The Lady Warriors dominated the first half and cruised to a 35-point win over the Lady Rebels.
Nanih Waiya led 10-1 at the end of the first and outscored Carroll 20-4 in the second to lead 30-5 at the half. Nanih Waiya continued to extend its lead, outscoring Carroll 18-4 in the third to lead 48-9 going to the fourth.
Bella Carter led Carroll with six points.
Victory Christian Boys 57, Carroll 35
Victory Christian controlled the first three periods and took a 22-point win over the Rebels.
Victory outscored Carroll 21-13 in the first and 15-5 in the second to lead 36-18 at the half. Victory continued to extend the lead in the third, outscoring Carroll 12-5 to lead 48-23 going to the fourth. Carroll took the fourth period 12-9 for the final margin.
Landon Grantham led Carroll withy 13 points while Collin Hurst had 12 points.
Central Holmes Boys 75, Carroll 68
The Rebels fell behind early but battled back in the second half and dropped a seven-point decision.
Central Holmes led 14-12 at the end of the first and then outscored Carroll 26-14 in the second to lead 40-26 at the half. Carroll pulled closer as they outscored Central Holmes 19-16 in the third and 23-19 in the fourth.
Owen Garrett led Carroll with 20 points while Reed Thomas and Collin Hurst had 14 points apiece. Logan Upchurch had 10 points and Cohen Blaylock chipped in six points.
Columbus Christian Boys 79, Carroll 54
The Rams dominated the first three periods and took a 25-point win last week over the Rebels.
Columbus jumped out to a 21-10 lead in the first period and then outscored Carroll 24-19 in the second to lead 45-29 at the half. Columbus continued to extend its lead in the third, outscoring Carroll 18-9 to lead 63-38 going to the fourth, where each team scored 16 points.
Collin Hurst led Carroll with 18 points while Reed Thomas had nine points. Owen Garrett and Logan Upcurch each had eight points apiece while Cohen Blaylock had six points.
