Philadelphia High School scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to slip past visiting J.Z. George 13-12 last Thursday night in a Region 4-2A contest in girls fast-pitch softball action.
The Lady Tornadoes tacked on two runs each in the second and third frames and four runs apiece in the fourth and fifth innings. J.Z. George (0-6 in region) tallied one run in the first, four in the second, two runs each in the third and seventh innings and three in the fifth.
Dakiya Robinson drove in three runs with a single and two walks, and Saralyn Roberts had a single and double, driving in one run and scoring once for the Lady Jaguars.
Mikayla Cobbins had two singles, one RBI and scored twice, and Jaycee Ellett had an RBI single. Kaylee Wilkinson, Cadence Jones and Makenzye Holmes scored two runs each.
Roberts took the loss in the circle as she went 6 2/3 innings, allowing all 13 runs on 12 hits, walking 11 and fanning 12.
The Jags and Lady Tornadoes played last Tuesday night with Philadelphia coming out on top 21-4 in a contest played in North Carrollton.
Roberts had a triple and drove in two runs, and Robinson had a single and double, scoring once. Cobbins had a single.
Roberts took the loss in the circle. She walked 10 and struck out eight.
J.Z. George played host to Riverside High School last Friday, losing to the Lady Bulldogs. No other information was available.
J.Z. George ((4-11 overall) is slated to entertain McAdams High School Thursday.

The Jaguars fell to 0-11 overall and 0-6 in Region 4-2A with a pair of losses to league foe Philadelphia High School last week. Philadelphia won 15-0 and 16-0.
The Jaguars are slated to play at Eupora High School Friday after the two teams met Tuesday in North Carrollton.
