J.Z. George High School will be sending three girls to compete in the MHSAA State 2A track meet, which will be held Monday at Pearl High School.
The Lady Jaguars placed fifth overall with 39 team points at the North State 2A meet last Saturday at Winona High School. Charleston High School won the girls division with 175 points, and East Union was second with 85 points. Leflore County came in third with 83 points, and Northside was fourth with 57 points. Philadelphia and J.Z. George tied for fifth, and Calhoun City was seventh with 36 points.
In the boys division, the Jaguars finished 13th overall with eight points. Northside won the boys division with 158 points, and Charleston was second with 150 points. O’Bannon was third 72 points, and East Union was fourth with 54 points. Leflore County came in fifth with 41 points, and M.S. Palmer was sixth with 40 points.
Only the top four from each event qualified for the state meet. Here are the results for the girls and boys.
