The town of North Carrollton completed the towns first ever street mural on asphalt Friday afternoon with a display promoting the public high school for the county.
“This project was funded with tourism funds thanks to Senator Lydia Chassaniol. The first approval was by the board of aldermen in August of 2024 to allocate the funding. This is another example of efforts here in North Carrollton where we are making accomplishments,” North Carrollton Mayor Ken Strachan said.
The mural is at the intersection of George and Main Street which is the direct route to the school. According to Mayor Strachan this project goes with the new sidewalks, banners, and decorative street signs that have been placed going to the school.
“All of these efforts were unanimously approved by the board of aldermen, and paid for with tourism funds. This shows how we make improvements and have the lowest property taxes. We look forward to continuing these efforts,” Mayor Strachan said.
