A memorial service for James W. "Jimmy" Saunders II of Winona will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Saunders passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at his residence in Winona at the age of 60. He was a member of Old Rice Road Baptist Church in Madison and an avid Ole Miss Football fan. He was a retired automobile salesman for several car dealerships throughout his career as well as opening Parker McGill in Starkville.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Lott Saunders; sons, Joseph "Joey" Murchison (Miki) of Memphis, Tenn. and Dustin Lucas of Winona; sisters, Cathy Whittenburg (Ed) of Haslet, Texas and Laurie Hurst (David) of Brandon; grandchildren, Jocelyn Murchison, Charles Murchison, Ian Murchison, and Teresa Murchison; two nieces; one nephew; one great-niece; five great-nephews, and his loyal dog and companion, Bo Wallace Saunders. He was proceeded in death by his father, Augustin Lucas "Gus" Saunders Jr; mother, Jo Ann Smith Saunders; and brother Augustin Lucas "Al" Saunders III.
